It’s time to announce our plans for Percona Performance Conference 2010. We will hold the event on April 12th and 13th in Santa Clara, California. In the months to come we will announce the theme, the exact location (we have it reserved, but it’s subject to change), the exact dates (we may add days), and we’ll open up registration and a Call For Proposals. Stay tuned!

So you’re conflicting with the Tuesday and Wednesday days of the MySQL Conference….last year it was a pain to run around to different places all the time, but at least on Thursday when the MySQL Conference was over it was nice to have the option of going to the Percona conference…it’d be MUCH better if the dates were Thursday and Friday, since nothing’s happening Friday yet (you’d be the prime attraction) and Thursday is only a half day at the conference.

I think it is really rude to schedule your conference on the same days as with MySQL. Your conference might not be related to MySQL database, but you are pulling people away from the MySQL conference. How would you feel if Oscon was held on the same hotel and same time as your conference?

Erkan

I would also appreciate you would give your conference not the same time. (It was really not that fun this year.)
I would like to see your conference on 10./11. or 16./17. 🙂
pleaaaase!

Didn’t we have all of these arguments last year? Baron, if you have any interest in moving the conference to another date/location, let me know; the PG.US and/or PGCon conferences would be happy to run a parallel conference with the Percona Performance Conference.

It isn’t good that I might miss 1 day from the MySQL conference to attend the Percona conference. But it is great that we all save on travel. If this were moved to Thu, Fri then there might be a conflict with the Drizzle and storage engine summits.

I posted some of my thoughts on this matter:
