This is a recurrent question made by our MySQL Support customers: How can I audit the login attempts in MySQL? Logging all the attempts or just the failed ones is a very important task on some scenarios. Unfortunately there are not too many audit capabilities in MySQL Community so the first option to audit MySQL’s […]
Thanks for all, who attended my webinar, I got many questions and I wanted to take this opportunity to answer them. Q: Even ntp has a delay of 0.3-0.4 between servers does that mean a 0.25 as from logs can be an issue ? A: My demo vms were running for a few hours before […]
I’ve been helping customers deploy and maintain MySQL (and variants) for the last couple of years and it has always been interesting to hear customer thoughts on how they want their servers installed. It has also been asked many times not only by our support and consulting customers, but widely from different forums and blogs […]
I used to think one should never look at max_binlog_size, however last year I had a couple of interesting cases which showed that sometimes it may be very important variable to tune properly. I meant to write about it earlier but never really had a chance to do it. I have it now!
Before Percona XtraBackup 2.1.7 and Percona XtraDB Cluster 5.6.15-25.3, rsync was the only SST method supporting GTID in the way that it was possible to move an asynchronous slave from one Galera node to another one (related bug). Compressing and streaming ./test/checksum.ibd
 Compressing and streaming ./mysql/slave_master_info.ibd
Assertion "to_read % cursor->page_size == 0" failed at fil_cur.cc:293
innobackupex: Error: The xtrabackup child process has died at /usr/bin/innobackupex line 2641.
This is related to a bug posted by my colleague George https://bugs.launchpad.net/percona-xtrabackup/+bug/1177201. While I was […]
