MySQL Consulting – Being on your own

About half a year have passed since me and Vadim have left MySQL to do MySQL Consulting on our own. Bunch of people have been wondering about our experiences so I thought it would be worth to share it here.

Life Beyond MySQL

When I was leaving MySQL I wrote I will be doing some Web projects on my own, besides doing MySQL Consulting. I think some people thought I am just using that as an excuse and really I will only do consulting. So I’m pretty happy to announce my first project. NNSEEK Is NewsGroup search engine, […]

Database problems in MySQL/PHP Applications

Article about database design problems is being discussed by Kristian. Both article itself and responce cause mixed feellings so I decided it is worth commenting: 1. There are two things which are very interesting about these questions which make them funny and annoying at […]

A technical WebScaleSQL review and comparison with Percona Server

The collaboration between the major MySQL-at-scale users to develop a single code branch that addresses the needs of, well, web scale, is going to benefit the whole community. But I feel that […]

It’s August 1st, 2011, and five years ago on or about this date (who can remember clearly?) Peter Zaitsev and Vadim Tkachenko founded Percona. What’s happened in the last five years?
